Research Assistant II - Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (AIM) Lab

  • Trained deep learning models that predict clinical state from medical images, fine-tuning Vision Transformer backbones across more than 25 prediction targets — laboratory analytes, vital signs, patient-reported outcomes, biological age, and mortality risk — on cohorts of up to 38,000+patients.

  • Designed the evaluation methodology for those models, covering patient-level data splits, confounder and covariate adjustment, external-cohort replication, subgroup fairness analysis, calibration, and survival analysis in R.

  • Built and maintain the group’s clinical research data infrastructure — a shared-library pipeline family that turns research patient registry extracts and EHR data into analysis-ready cohorts through automated clinical phenotyping, temporal alignment of laboratory and clinical events, and automated quality control on tables of tens of millions of records.

  • Delivered cohort construction, phenotyping, and statistical analysis for more than a dozen investigator-led studies in radiation and medical oncology — spanning cardiac toxicity, pneumonitis, small-cell and non-small-cell lung cancer, thymic health, and pulmonary hypertension — contributing to 7 published papers, preprints, and conference abstracts.

  • Validated an automated phenotyping algorithm for major adverse cardiac events against manual chart review, and curated the diagnosis and procedure code sets reused across multiple studies.

  • Extended biological-age estimation from facial photographs to laboratory-derived biological age and mortality risk through transfer learning.

  • Launched and now operate the FaceAge platform, the data-collection and inference system for 2 IRB-approved studies, enrolling 3,600+ participants and 30,000+ photographs to date, and while running IRB and IT approval in parallel.

  • Rebuilt that platform as a self-hosted application (FastAPI, PostgreSQL, React) with row-level security, encrypted storage of protected health information, queued model inference, and automated testing and deployment across three environments.

  • Kept 7 IRB-approved protocols active across MGB and the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center with zero deficiencies by independently authoring and revising protocols, consent forms, and operational documentation.

  • Opened enrollment for the interventional Lung-GAP trial (DFHCC 25-009, NCT06987890) and consented [[N]] geriatric lung cancer patients in [[N]] months by initiating the recruitment workflow and administering the screening and geriatric assessment battery.

Biospecimen Coordinator - Center for Cancer Genomics (CCG)

  • Maintained protocol-adherent collection across [[N]] biospecimen collections from Cross-Sectional Interventional Radiology with [[N]] protocol deviations, by directing study teams on optimal collection methods and enforcing IRB requirements at the point of care.

  • Standardized sample inventory across 7 CCG projects — [[reducing intake time from N to N / resolving N unaccessioned samples]] — by driving committee discussions to consensus and writing the resulting standard operating procedures.

Teaching Assistant - PSYC 2200: The Neural Basis of Behavior

  • Supported 100+ students in an introductory neuroscience course, by leading 10 lab sessions, running exam review sessions, and grading assignments and participation for cohorts of up to 18 across 1.5-hour labs.

  • Built lab curriculum for all 10 sessions in collaboration with the lead instructor and TA team.

Experiential Intern - Precision Medicine Pathology

  • Migrated records for thousands of frozen biospecimens into AbbVie’s cross-site inventory, initiating a company-wide biospecimen data merge across all major U.S.sites, by cleaning, mapping, and reformatting legacy sample metadata.

  • Supported Companion Diagnostic Assay development for high-stakes AbbVie therapeutics as part of a 4-scientist team.

  • Presented internship results to the full AbbVie 2022 intern class (20+ attendees) in a 10-minute talk.

  • Shadowed a board-certified pathologist through QC of hundreds of tissue slides and the College of American Pathologists Surgical Pathology Performance Improvement Program (CAP P.I.P.).
