Work experience
Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, MA — October 2024 - Present
Research Assistant II - Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (AIM) Lab
Trained deep-learning models that predict laboratory values, vital signs, biological age, mortality risk and patient-reported outcomes from a single face photograph, fine-tuning a Vision Transformer foundation model across 25+ prediction heads, and designed their evaluation: patient-level splits, confounder adjustment, calibration, survival analysis and replication in a prospective external cohort.
Built and maintain the lab’s clinical-data infrastructure as one cohort-keyed pipeline family that turns research patient registry extracts of tens of millions of records into analysis-ready cohorts through ICD/NLP phenotyping, temporal alignment of labs and clinical events, and outcome labeling
Completed 16 data requests for 13 collaborators across the instiutionalthoracic radiation database and the FaceAge cohorts (cardiac toxicity, radiation pneumonitis, small-cell lung cancer, thymic health, pulmonary hypertension, genomics and geographic), contributing to 9 outputs: 4 journal articles (Thorax, Annals of Oncology, Nature Communications, Journal of Geriatric Oncology), 2 conference abstracts (ASCO, ASTRO) and 3 preprints.
Validated an automated Major Adverse Cardiac Event (MACE) phenotyping algorithm against manual chart review and curated the diagnosis, procedure and NLP code sets now reused across the lab’s cardiotoxicity studies.
Launched and operate the FaceAge platform, the public data-collection and inference site for two IRB-approved studies: 3,962 consented participants and 35,182 photographs to date, recruited through organic search alone (17,500 visits from 462,000 Google impressions across 153 countries, March to August 2026, 81% on mobile). Built it on Flask/Gunicorn, REDCap and Dropbox with a Redis queue and Docker across dev, staging and production on three MGB servers, then rebuilt it as a self-hosted FastAPI/PostgreSQL/React application with row-level security, encrypted PHI storage, queued inference and automated testing and deployment.
Kept 7 IRB protocols active across MGB and the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center with zero deficiencies by authoring and revising protocols, consents, amendments and ClinicalTrials.gov records, and opened enrollment for the interventional Lung-GAP trial (DFHCC 25-009, NCT06987890) by initiating the recruitment workflow and administering the geriatric practical assessment.
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA — July 2023 - October 2024
Biospecimen Coordinator - Center for Cancer Genomics (CCG)
Kept biospecimen collections from Cross-Sectional Interventional Radiology protocol-adherent by directing study teams on collection methods and enforcing IRB requirements at the point of care.
Standardized sample inventory across 7 CCG projects by driving committee discussions to consensus and writing the resulting standard operating procedures.
Designed and managed the CCG specimen databases that opened specimens and hundreds of data fields to collaborator query.
UVA Psychology Department, Charlottesville, VA — August 2022 - December 2022
Teaching Assistant - PSYC 2200: The Neural Basis of Behavior
- Supported 100+ students by leading 10 lab sessions, running exam reviews and grading; co-built the curriculum for all 10 sessions.
AbbVie, South San Francisco, CA — May 2022 - August 2022
Experiential Intern - Precision Medicine Pathology
- Migrated records for thousands of frozen biospecimens into AbbVie’s cross-site inventory by cleaning, mapping and reformatting legacy sample metadata, initiating a company-wide biospecimen data merge across the major U.S. sites; supported companion-diagnostic assay development in a 4-scientist team and presented results to the 2022 intern class.
